Paulo Coelho has posed for the Spanish magazine Yo Dona (issue of October 10th) in an initiative of the Sandra Ibarra Foundation for Solidarity in the Face of Cancer, which has also gathered Antonio Banderas (actor), Fernando Verdasco (tennis player), Dani Martín (singer) and Juan Ramón Lucas (journalist) in a gesture of commitment and solidarity aiming at raising awareness on breast cancer among men: five men that open their eyes because "the disease is also OUR BUSINESS".

Sentences by Paulo Coelho become solidary T-shirts to support Brazilian favela children in a joint-campaign with Mango

Paulo Coelho and the fashion brand Mango have created a collection of T-shirts illustrated with sentences by the author.

More than half of the earnings from the sales of these T-shirts will be destined to the Paulo Coelho Institute in Brazil, where 450 children study and get food, love, education and the possibility to develop their artistic skills. The Institute is exclusively financed by the author's copyrights.

Mickey Rourke, Alice Braga and Vincent Cassel are set to star in the film adaptation of Eleven Minutes

American actor Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler, Nine ½ Weeks), Brazilian actress Alice Braga (I Am Legend, City of God) and French actor Vincent Cassel (Eastern Promises, The Hate) have signed on to star in Eleven Minutes, a film adaptation of Paulo Coelho's global bestseller translated into 44 languages. Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio is said to be in talks to round out the cast.
