Young activist Malala declares 'The Alchemist' is her favorite book

Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager shot in the head by the Taliban after campaigning for girls' education, has declared Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist is her favorite book. Indeed, the young education activist will contribute to enlarge Europe's largest public library in Birmingham with a copy of that universal novel. Before Tuesday’s opening ceremony, Malala will place the last book on the shelves: her own copy of The Alchemist. The Brazilian author has already declared to be deeply “moved” by Malala’s gesture.
